Genre-crossing contemporary jazz vocalist/composer
Tom Barton has released his debut studio album, Aspirations.
This flagship release for Barton’s independent label Bartone Music was recorded after over $9,000 was raised by supporters on crowdfunding platform Pozible.
The album transcends its acoustic jazz instrumentation to worlds of electronically-augmented sonic atmospheres.
Tom sings original prose pondering the self and the natural world, and wordless music, featuring jazz improvisation, extended vocal techniques, and live electronic looping and effects processing.
The album blends genres of jazz, pop, folk, electronica and world music in a truly unique vision.
Album Launch: August 10, 2014 | 8pm | Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, Melbourne | $15 |
